đ âBut the Lord said to Samuel, âDo not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.ââ â 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)
đ Context:
Israel wanted a king who looked the part, but Saulâs outward strength hid inward disobedience. When Samuel saw Jesseâs sons, God reminded him that He chooses differently. David was overlooked by men but chosen by God because of his heart
đŹ Reflection:
Religion without relationship drifts into performanceâmanaging appearances, defending labels, and following routines without change. God is not impressed by polish; He is moved by purity and truth. A clean ritual with a closed heart is still distance, not devotion.
True relationship with God shows in how we live daily: seeking Him first, aligning habits with His Word, and letting His Spirit shape our thoughts and actions. When the heart is right, the habits become holy, and life itself becomes worship.
đđœ Prayer:
âFather, search my heart and free me from living for appearances. Replace my rituals with real devotion, and let my body honor You as Your temple. Teach me to walk in humility and love so my life reflects a true relationship with You. In Jesusâ Name, Amen.â
