đ âBut the Lord said to her, âMartha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are neededâor indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.ââ â Luke 10:41â42 (NIV)
đ Context:
Jesus visited the home of two sisters, Martha and Mary. Martha busied herself preparing and serving, while Mary sat at Jesusâ feet, listening to His teaching. When Martha grew frustrated, Jesus gently corrected her, showing that presence with Him outweighs busyness for Him.
đŹ Reflection:
We often measure worth by productivityâworking longer hours, juggling endless tasks, proving ourselves through busyness. But constant activity leaves us drained and distracted.
This lesson teaches us to pause. Like Mary, sitting still in Godâs presence fills you in ways no to-do list can. Winning isnât found in doing everythingâitâs in doing what matters most, and that begins with strengthening your relationship with God.
đđ˝ Prayer:
Lord, slow me down when Iâm tangled in too many tasks. Teach me to value Your presence more than my performance. Help me choose what lasts over what only feels urgent. Fill me so that I can serve from overflow, not exhaustion. In Jesusâ Name, Amen.
