📖 “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith.” – 1 Peter 5:8–9 (NIV)
📚 Context:
Peter wrote these words for believers to know that the real danger wasn’t just physical attacks, but spiritual ones that could weaken their faith if they weren’t vigilant. His warning paints the picture of a lion circling the life of the righteous, waiting for a moment of weakness.
💬 Reflection:
If the devil can’t break you directly, he’ll target those you love, hoping their actions or struggles will shake your faith. A careless word from a friend, a child’s poor decision, or a spouse’s weakness can become tools in his hand.
Staying guarded means praying consistently for yourself, those around you, and all other believers. When you stay firm in faith, God surrounds your family with a hedge of protection, turning potential attacks into testimonies.
🙏🏽 Prayer:
“Lord, keep me awake to the reality of spiritual battles. Protect my home and loved ones from attacks meant to weaken my faith. Help all your children resist the enemy with courage and remain firm in thier trust in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
