đ âThe lamp of the body is the eye. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.â â Matthew 6:22 (NIV)
đ Context:
Jesus used this metaphor during His Sermon on the Mount to teach about spiritual focus. In a world full of distractions, He explained that clarity comes when your âeyeâ â meaning your attention and intention â stays fixed on God. A divided focus lets darkness in; a single focus fills your life with light.
đŹ Reflection:
Distraction is one of the enemyâs quietest weapons. He doesnât always destroyâhe divides. He pulls your attention in ten directions until your spirit feels scattered and your peace runs dry. You canât move forward when your focus keeps shifting between Godâs will and your own plans.
When your heart is fixed on one thingâpleasing Godâlight starts breaking through confusion. You begin to see purpose where others see pressure, and peace where others see problems. A single focus doesnât mean a smaller lifeâit means a clearer one.
đđœ Prayer:
Lord, help me tune out the noise that steals my focus. Guard my mind from distractions and my heart from divided desires. Teach me to fix my eyes on You, so my path stays full of light. Let everything I do flow from a heart thatâs centered on Your will. In Jesusâ Name, Amen.
